| Union Ice Company of Los Angeles saw its heyday before the war when most homes still had iceboxes, not refrigerators. Along with Arden Dairy trucks delivering milk door to door and Helms Bakery trucks doing the same with bread and pastries, Union Ice truck was a familiar sight on southern California streets for many years. Though home delivery is long gone, the company is still in business. |
