| Mass backing
is the original type of backing that most car makers use. It's thicker
and more rubber-like than poly backing. Mass Backing is made of 40
mil thick Ethylene vinyl acetate. This gives the carpet a dense rubber
backing to reduce noise and heat inside the vehicle. With the addition
of Mass backing, the durability of your carpet is improved. Mass
Backing adds more shape retention and regidity to your new carpet.
This option is only offered with molded carpet. Since this is an upgrade to our standard backing, there is a surcharge for mass backing which includes additional shipping costs due to increased weight. Note: If your carpet set has both molded and die cut pieces, only the molded section will have mass backing. Die Cut pieces are only availabe with standard poly backing. |

| Poly Backing - This is our standard backing | ||
| All of our carpets are priced and come standard with Polyethylene Backing. Poly backing is lighter and more mesh like than mass backing. It's easier to bend and mold the carpet to the floor pan with poly backing. This is the same backing offered by most aftermarket carpet manufacturers. | ||
| Note:
Some molded carpets come with jute backing where your feet rest on the floor pans. This helps prevent the carpet from wearing out prematurely because the major amount of the wear is obviously where your feet contact the carpet. |
